The season of formal parties and casual get-togethers with friends, co-workers and family is just around the corner. To make sure you're not caught without a thing to wear, and to be seasonally in style, check out these wardrobe essentials for the last holiday season of the millennium.

1. The Turtleneck Sweater

Clean classics are making a rebound. The turtleneck in all its forms, from mock to cowl, looks great with every skirt and pant.

These boots were made for walking.... Well, some aren't exactly up to the task, and that's the fun of it!

3. Wrap It Up

A cape, poncho, or a big shawl is the finishing layer over anything - suits, jeans and ball gowns. Go for cashmere, anything with fringe, and - of course - satin or burnout velvet to match your millennium mood.
